Scott Sowle


Co-Founder and Executive Director

A senior healthcare executive with progressive experience in behavioral healthcare and the treatment of addictive disease, Scott has a background across all functional areas including regional and national management, contract negotiations, business and marketing plan development, strategic and tactical planning, operations, staffing and program development. He is noted for his ability to develop relationships between various community agencies, referral sources, and in improving the abilities of diverse populations to access behavioral healthcare services.

Scott began his career teaching with the Los Angeles Unified School District. Early in his professional career Scott held a number of positions including Case Manager, Social Worker, Discharge Planner, and as the Director of Psychiatric Emergency Services at Los Angeles area hospitals such as St. John's Health Center and Daniel Freeman Marina Hospital. In 1996, Scott was recruited as part of a management team working with Universal Health Services to provide management and administrative oversight at one of the largest behavioral healthcare and chemical dependency treatment programs in Southern California. As part of that management team, Scott was responsible for community outreach, psychiatric emergency services, and administrative oversight of the behavioral health and substance abuse treatment programs.

In 2001, Scott was recruited as Executive Director for an adolescent residential treatment center in Malibu, CA where he helped develop the program, expand its' residential capacity, market the program nationally and work with its' Founders to develop the programs outpatient services.

From 2003-2008 Scott worked for a healthcare services management company integrating medical and behavioral innovations for the treatment of substance dependency. As Vice President of Business Development (2003-2006) and Vice President of Operations his primary responsibilities included the development of licensees throughout the United States, strategic planning, coordination and implementation of lead generation programs, development and coordination of direct marketing campaigns, development of annual budgets, and administrative oversight of the company owned outpatient centers. In 2006 Scott was tasked to develop similar licensees throughout the East Coast.  Relocating to New York City in June 2006, Scott helped the Company gain exposure and market share throughout the East. Responsibilities included developing a network of licensees such as physician groups and targeted addiction treatment centers that provided care for substance dependent individuals and their families.

Scott has been integral in developing various programs including inpatient and outpatient chemical dependency treatment services, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment services, psychiatric emergency mobile response teams, and behavioral health programs in collaboration with other agencies. Scott received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
