Monisha Vasa

General and Addiction Psychiatry
Dr. Monisha Vasa is a General and Addiction Psychiatrist with a passion for treating adolescents with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Dr. Vasa is a Cum Laude graduate of Northwestern University, and completed her medical training at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. She completed her General Psychiatry residency, Chief Residency, and Addiction Psychiatry fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she evaluated and helped many teenagers and families struggling with addiction and mental health problems. In addition to her involvement with Newport Academy, Dr. Vasa is a clinical supervisor and lecturer at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and is also in private practice in Newport Beach and Los Angeles. Dr. Vasa believes in education, advocacy, and respect for her patients. Her treatment philosophy is based on detailed diagnostic evaluation, and creation of a highly individualized and comprehensive treatment plan that involves psychotherapy, medications when appropriate, and lifestyle change.
