Mika Roux is a MFT Intern who is passionate about working with teens struggling with addiction. She places great emphasis on treating all aspects of addiction through a Holistic view of the disease process and is enthusiastic about working with a team of like-minded individuals who respect and treat clients at all levels- Mind, Body, and Spirit.
Through Individual Counseling, Mika helps her clients connect with their strengths, knowledge, and internal wisdom, and build self-esteem. She supports the process of self-awareness in identifying root causes and triggers in the addiction process and the areas each client needs additional support in maintaining sobriety. In addition, Mika is passionate about supporting, empowering and assisting young women in building self confidence, creating healthy relationships with self and others, developing a healthy body image and relationship with food, and providing individualized health and nutrition education.
Mika received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo and a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Santa Barbara. She continued her studies at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York City where she received a Certification in Holistic Health Counseling from IIN and Columbia University.
