Michael Davis brings to Newport Academy nearly 16 years of adolescent residential experience as well as over 20 years of personal recovery. He has been a certified addictions counselor for over 10 years. He most recently was a Program Director for a 21-bed adolescent residential facility in Texas. Beginning as direct care staff and becoming a lead therapist at a highly structured residential facility for 12 years, gave Michael a wide variety of experience in adolescent and family therapy. Michael maintains that "underneath everything you see on the outside, they are all just kids trying to get by, the best they know how at the time". This belief is reflected in his passion for helping young people change. Michael's  personal experience and professional expertise is seen in his dedication to helping families create the change needed to support the recovery of each young person at Newport Academy.
