Devon Green

Recovery Counselor

Devon was raised in Orange County, not far from the Newport Academy.  She graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Westchester, CA with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies in 2004.   She also received a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Loyola.  Although Devon has extensive experience in the classroom as a substitute teacher, she has plans to return to school to obtain a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy.  Devon struggled with her own eating disorder throughout her adolescence.  She received inpatient care in 2001 and has maintained her recovery through outpatient therapy.  Her experience with inpatient care and her ongoing recovery provides her with the insight and tools necessary to inspire and guide others experiencing problems with addiction.  Devon has seen how the family dynamic can contribute not only to adolescent addiction, but how it can also play an important role one's recovery.  She is an example of the possibility of recovery, and looks forward to working with adolescents and families at Newport Recovery heal and begin their own journey of recovery.
